Another year VIK hotel San Antonio in Lanzarote witnessed the hardest sports challenges of the world: the Ironman Lanzarote 2013.

Another year VIK hotel San Antonio in Lanzarote witnessed the hardest sports challenges of the world: the Ironman Lanzarote 2013. Last Saturday, 18th of May 2013, about 1760 athletes from all backgrounds and walks of life completed their own personal challenge and tested their endurance to complete the 22nd IRONMAN LANZAROTE. In this competition, each participant has to swim 3.8 km, ride a grueling 180.2 km bike course and finally run a full marathon of 42.2 km to earn the privilege of being an Ironman Lanzarote” finisher”.
The German Faris Al-Sultan, took the win, with a time of 8 hours, 42 minutes and 40 seconds followed by the Spanish Miquel Blanchart with a time of 8 hours 52 minutes and 08 seconds.
In the women’s race, the German Kristin Möller lead the race from start to finish with a time of 9 hours 37 minutes and 35 seconds.

VIK hotels collaborated one more year with this unique event and offered the athletes staying at the VIK Hotel San Antonio, maximum confort so that sportsmen were in a perfect condition. On the following day the VIK Hotel San Antonio invited all of them to a cocktail at the Pool bar, to honour the performances and to congratulate the athletes.
