As a general rule, shops open from 09:00 to 13:00 and then again from 16:00 until 20:00. 
Most businesses are closed on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.

The island boasts an impressive range of shopping centres and areas to find what you’re looking for.

<u>Las Palmas de GC</u>

Don’t miss the Vegueta and Triana districts, where you can find an excellent assortment of well-known shops and other smaller establishments.
Mesa y Lopez is next to Triana and is one of the city’s oldest shopping areas. Shops can be found all along its boulevards (ramblas) and include two of the island’s many Corte Inglés department stores.
Other shopping centres of note include El Muelle, La Ballena, CC 7, Hipercor, Las Ramblas, Tamaracite and Las Arenas. In addition, the Las Terrazas shopping centre is soon to be unveiled on the outskirts of the city.

If you find yourself in the south of the island, don’t forget to visit the Atlantico shopping centre and the Baradero shopping district, as well as the Cita, Yumbo and Metro shopping centres… to name but a few.

<li>Meloneras: Thursdays. Art and handicraft street market, along with craft workshops.

<li>Valleseco: Sundays
<li>Vegueta: Every Sunday of every month (excluding July, August and September). From October 30 onward, Vegueta Art and Culture Market. 
<li>Mogán: Sundays
<li>Moya: Sundays
<li>Playa del Inglés: Handicraft street market every day, except Sundays. 
<li>Puerto de Mogán: Every Friday
<li>San Fernando: Every Wednesday and Saturday
<li>Vega de San Mateo: Saturdays
<li>Santa Brígida: Saturdays

<li>Santa María de Guía: Tuesdays and Sundays
