Gran CanariaTheme Parks

Aquasur

The island’s largest water park, with close to 130,000m2 of installations. As well as its 5,300m2 of swimming pools, we would highlight its surf beach, the Congo River, the rapids, Aquamania and the children’s water park for the little ones.

Puerto Rico Aquapark

A water park for grown ups and children alike. It offers an exciting range of attractions and amenities, including the fastest water slides to be found on the island.

Camel Safaris

The famous Maspalomas sand dunes offer visitors the unique opportunity to enjoy treks on camels.

Miniature Train Ride

Enjoy a ride along the Playa del Inglés beach. This miniature train is an imitation of the trains used between 1860 and 1864 in the Wild West.

Palmitos Park

This park, located 10 kilometres out from Maspalomas, is a subtropical paradise with over 100 palm trees, 15,000 plants, more than 150 bird species and other creatures such as monkeys, reptiles, etc…

Viera y Clavijo Botanical Gardens

Situated in Tafira Alta, just 7km from the capital, the “Viera y Clavijo” Botanical Garden is an absolute must-see for visitors to the island. It belongs to the Interisland Council of Gran Canaria (Cabildo de Gran Canaria) and can be enjoyed by the public all year round.

Cenobio de Valerón

This is the island’s largest and most impressive Prehispanic granary. It is now set to reopen again after two years of renovation work, thereby complementing the aboriginal sites in the north of the island, the painted cave at Gáldar and the Maípez de Agaete. Beaches

Maspalomas

This is probably one of Gran Canaria’s finest beaches. It measures over 6,000 metres in length and can reach up to 1km in width. The sand is white and the water crystal clear. Its spectacular sand dunes ensure that you will never tire of this unique landscape.

Playa del Ingles

Considered one of the EU’s most well-known beaches. It can be found next to Maspalomas beach and spans 2,700 metres of very fine sandy coastline and calm seas. It is one of the major attractions for international tourists, who flock to the beach and the surrounding area.

Playa de las Canteras

Considered one of Europe’s best city beaches. The beach is protected from the crashing waves by a natural barrier and water temperatures remain constant. It boasts around 3km of fine golden sandy beach. There is also an impressive array of sporting activities on offer, and all just a few minutes from the city centre.

Playa de las Alcaravaneras

This is the city’s second largest beach, with views out over the magnificent harbour of Puerto de La Luz and Las Palmas harbour, and golden sands reaching nearly 1km in width.

Playa de Amadores

The island’s only artificial beach, with 800m of golden sand and clean crystalline waters. It can be found between Puerto de Mogán and Puerto Rico. Museums

Museo de la Ciencia (Science Museum)

Enormous fun for all ages. Take a fascinating leap into the world of science at the Science Museum, which is located in the Elder building of Santa Catalina Park.

Museo Canario (Canarian Museum)

The wealth of museum, archaeological, library and documentary exhibits on display are an absolute must for researchers, students and anyone intrigued or enchanted by Canarian culture. Founded in 1879, the museum is the largest specialist centre to be found on the archipelago.
