Gran Canaria
Spain has been a major tourist destination for many years now. Our hotels are located in the Canary Islands, which represent the country’s southernmost tip.
Located to the southwest of Spain and to the northwest of the continent of Africa, Gran Canaria forms part of the archipelago known as the Canary Islands, comprising 7 volcanic islands.
Gran Canaria is known as the miniature continent to reflect the sheer diversity on offer. Large beaches and hidden unspoilt coves, with lush mountainous terrain inland and subtropical forests. Temperatures remain steady at around 24 degrees all year round.
On 29 June 2005, UNESCO declared part of the island of Gran Canaria a Biosphere Reserve. The total area protected under this declaration represents 46% of the island’s territory, in addition to 100,458 ha of marine habitat.
Gran Canaria is the second largest of the Canary Islands in terms of population. The island’s capital is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (the archipelago’s most populated city with 377,203 inhabitants).
Gran Canaria plays host to Europe’s wildest and most spectacular carnival, as well as many other festivities over the course of the year.
